Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful.....just a few of the movies brought to us by John Hughes. I've spent countless hours with these movies and many of his others. Some of my favorite movies were written, directed, produced by this man. He had a way with coming of age films that no one else seemed to come close to. Who can forget Jake Lloyd, Blane McDonnagh and Ferris Bueller? Personally, I always gravitated toward the geeky guy in the films. Ducky Dale being my fav - I loved John Cryer!! I loved the chemistry between Eric Stoltz and Mary Stuart Masterson in Some Kind of Wonderful. Danke Schoen became one of my favorite songs after watching Ferris lip sync during the parade in Chicago.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I'll miss his movies.

Well we're getting closer...11 days and counting..yikes! Between pirate fest and tatiana422's wedding, I haven't had time to focus on Azkatraz. Though I tend to do my best work when in a crunch. I need my dress for Andromeda, my ball outfit and a quilt. Too bad I have a normal job to do, I could use some extra time. Can't wait for Azkatraz!

I know, I know, Twilight, blech! For the record, I'm a die hard HP fan, have been for damn near 8 yrs. So what's with this post you may ask. My loving husband decided to rent Twilight for me. He thought it was something I was interested in. I haven't read a single book. Too much fluff. After I gave him the "Surely, you jest" look, I thought what the hell. How bad can it be?

Overall, not a bad movie. Not a good movie either. There's no continuity to the plot. I wanted to smack the crap out of Bella just because. She's got the teen angst down to a science. Then along comes Edward....what can I say? I didn't care for Robert Patterson as Cedric. He didn't quite fit what I was looking for. As Edward though, wow! I think the pale makeup did it for me. I can see why the teenage girls are ga-ga. Hell, some of the older women I know have a thing for him too. I didn't like the sparkly crap. Vampires aren't suppose to even be in the sunlight!

I like the Anne Rice vampire better. The sensualtiy factor alone kept me reading. I mean, how could you not find Louis and Armand sexy?!?!? She has a way of writing that just lures me in. Of course, there's Prince Vlad from Dracula too. Gary Oldman, rawr! I've always found them sensual and alluring. I've got shivers just thinking of them!

The movie didn't make me want to run out and get the books. I might read them someday. For now I'm content readying HP repeatedly.

 It's good to be home even though I miss you all terribly! Finally meeting you all was a great experience for me with this being my first HP con. I can't believe I waited this long to go to one. Now I can't wait till the next!! Hopefully that will be next July for Azkatraz.

The roommate situation was a little hairy at times, but I think we pulled through amazingly. Thanks to serade_black, tatiana422, squeezystan and childofpisces for making it so much fun!

I just got back home from spending the day with serade_black and tatiana422. We went to breakfast and then thrift store shopping. Not too many places open today. Shoulda guessed. Had a great time trying on clothes in the middle of the aisles at Goodwill. The stares from those around us were the amusing part. I managed to find the remainder of my costume for Terminus today. Very exciting! 33 days and counting!

Tonight I plan to sit and watch tv with my husband and keep my dogs from flipping out about the fireworks. Jack and Abby hate loud noises.

I'm going to go watch Doctor Who right now.

Hello all. I felt the need to share cuz I'm bursting here. Yesterday Tara and I went to several fabric stores to see what we could find for her LOJ dress. No luck with fabric or a pattern. She decided on a different route, which I think will be just as cool. We found material for our Azkaban quidditch team. I should've taken a pic, but I'm lazy. It's large black and white stripe. I also found material for my school robe. $1.95/yd!!! Couldn't pass that up. Now I just need lining. We also got stuff for her pirate costume. I just want to get started so I can see the final results on everything.

I just checked this for the first time last week in over a year. Damn, I've been gone a long time! We finally bought our house. Yeah! It's still a little unreal, but it's mine all mine(well, I have to share with Rod). The dogs really like the backyard, we're now at 3. Rod and I have started volunteering with Sarasota Defense of Animals. I help with the adoptions once a month and Rod helps trap the feral cats. It's something we've wanted to do for awhile, we just finally have the time for it. MB and Thelma, if you feel like traveling one of these weekends, you're more than welcome to come down for a visit. It's been ages since we've seen either of you.

Not too much new, even though it has been months since I posted anything. I am trying to keep the dogs from driving me closer to the edge. Every morning I have to fight them to eat their breakfast instead of playing chase. I can't wait until they have a backyard so I can kick them outside to play.

We're still trying to figure out when to start looking for that house. The prices are falling, yes, but I'm not sure they are falling fast enough for me. I just keep hoping that I'll look at the MLS one day and OMG I found it. No such luck yet. I've stopped looking everyday thinking maybe if I wait until the weekends I'll find something. Not yet. Bummer!

Anyhoo, like I said not much going on around here. Though, I did find out last week I need a root canal. My Thanksgiving is going to be wonderful! Good thing I planned on staying home this year.

I have broken down and joined the world of DS. I got a lite last Saturday and have been playing everyday. No Animal Crossing though. I have been playing Super Mario Bros., Mario Cart and Tetris. We have Brain Age, but I haven't tried it yet.

Sitting here in the breakroom trying to keep my wits about me. It seems some people in our office can do whatever they want and the rest of us are here to pick up there slack. Same old story.

Anyway, doing the POTC promo tonight at Hollywood 20. I love doing pirate stuff! I really miss it. I will seeing it after as well. Tomorrow I am taking my van in for new tires. Fun stuff. MB if you still wanted to come over this weekend can we make it for Sun. I also need to clean my carpet tomorrow. The dogs are wreaking havoc on it. Just let me know when to expect you.

Hey, long time, no post. Since I got my video iPod, I sit in the lunchroom and watch some video podcasts. I don't generally get on the pc once I get home. I spend most of my day on one, so it's about the last thing I want to do when I get home. For those of you that are interested, my b-day is this Saturday and I want to go out. I usually spend the day vegging, but this year I want to do something. I was thinking of the Amphitheater in Ybor. I am tired of the Castle, so I want something different. If you want to go, just give me a call. I miss you guys!

Hey, Thelma. I tried calling you the other day to see how things were going. I completely forgot it was your birthday. I am so sorry! I just suck. I haven't had time to even check this since I go home for lunch everyday now. Got to feed the puppy. Anyway, just wanted to say sorry and I hope it was a good day considering all that you are going through.
